Today we leave behind the Year of the Wood Snake and enter into the robust Year of the Fire Horse.

This year heralds the final symbolic shedding of the skin that characterized 2024 (Wood Dragon – Yang) and 2025 (Wood Snake – Yin).

It is time to let loose ends dissolve and move forward with renewed energy and confidence, allowing our inner need for freedom and release to guide us.

This is the year to:

travel
have fun
be daring and adventurous
be spontaneous

Luck will favor you for it.

The Nature of the Horse

A Horse loves nothing more than freedom—well, except for inclusion and falling in love.

They are among the most romantic souls and wonderfully magnanimous… unless their freedom is threatened (lol).

Every Horse is energetic, hard-working, and fiercely independent. Honest to a fault, often blunt without intending harm.

They are quick-witted and deeply talented, though sometimes hampered by personal uncertainty.

They absolutely MUST have a partner who can appreciate what they bring to the table.

Horses are loyal, clever, and often live by the philosophy:

“I work so I can spend on fun.”

A good money manager can help them prepare for old age—because a Horse never thinks about it. And even when they grow old, most remain forever young at heart.

Interestingly, the Horse is often said to correspond with Gemini in Western astrology.

Why 2026 Is So Powerful

2026 is a Yang year, already full of movement, energy, and spontaneous change.

Add:

the Fire element (ridiculous energetic change), and
the celestial animal of travel and enthusiasm,

…and this should be a humdinger of a year.

A Note on Eastern Astrology Timing

The Year of the Horse occurs every 12 years, and the five elements rotate through the cycle. Each celestial animal has a birth element (Horse – Fire), which is augmented by:

the element of the year of birth, and
other elements in a person’s Pillars of Destiny chart(similar to a natal chart in Western astrology, but VERY different).

Because the Eastern system follows the lunar calendar, years run roughly February to February. This means Aquarians and some Pisceans should double-check their true Eastern sign.
